Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Adulting (the "App", Android package com.codemaverick.adulting), developed and published by Ferrix Labs ("we", "us", "our"), handles information when you use the App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information you enter in the App

To provide its budgeting features, the App lets you enter and store the following information:

• Income sources: names, amounts, categories, pay frequency, pay dates, and notes.
• Recurring payments and bills: names, amounts, categories, due dates, payment status, and notes.
• Transactions: amounts, dates, categories, and descriptions or notes you add.
• Budget limits: monthly spending caps and alert thresholds per category.
• Reminder preferences: which bills to be reminded about and when.

This information is stored only in a private database on your device that other apps cannot access. It is used solely to show you your monthly plan, forecasts, and reminders. It is never transmitted to Ferrix Labs or to any third party by the App. We have no access to it.

Please avoid entering highly sensitive details (such as full bank account numbers, card numbers, or passwords) in free-text fields, as the App does not need them.

2. Information we do not collect

The App does not collect or access:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials.
• Your precise or approximate location.
• Your contacts, photos, media files, camera, or microphone.
• Your SMS messages, call logs, or bank account connections.
• Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or usage analytics.
• Crash reports or diagnostics sent to us.

3. Device permissions

The App requests only the following Android permissions, used entirely on your device:

• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): to show bill and payment reminders you set up.
• Exact alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): to deliver reminders at the time you choose.
• Run at startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): to restore your scheduled reminders after your device restarts, or when the time or time zone changes.

You can revoke the notification permission at any time in your device settings. Reminders will then no longer appear.

4. How your information is used

Information you enter is processed locally on your device only to:

• Calculate your monthly cashflow, budgets, and month-by-month forecasts.
• Track upcoming, paid, and overdue bills and expected income.
• Schedule and display local reminder notifications.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.

5. Sharing and disclosure

Because your data never leaves your device through the App, we do not share your data with any third parties. This includes service providers, advertisers, data brokers, and analytics companies. We do not sell your data.

6. Device backups (Google)

The App supports Android's standard backup feature. If you have enabled Backup by Google One / Google Drive in your device settings, Android may include the App's data in your device backup, and may restore it when you set up a new device or transfer data between devices. This backup is performed by the Android operating system and Google, not by Ferrix Labs. It is stored in your own Google account and is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. We cannot access these backups. You can turn device backup on or off at any time in your Android settings.

7. Google Play

The App is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect information (for example, about app installs and purchases) as described in the Google Privacy Policy. This collection is done by Google independently of the App, and we do not receive any personal data from it.

8. Data retention and deletion

Your data remains on your device until you delete it. You are in full control and can:

• Delete individual income sources, bills, transactions, or budgets within the App.
• Delete all App data via Settings → Apps → Adulting → Storage → Clear data.
• Uninstall the App, which permanently removes all of its data from your device.

Since we do not hold any of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. To remove a copy kept in a Google device backup, manage your backups in your Google account settings.

9. Security

Your data is stored in the App's private storage, which Android isolates from other apps. We recommend protecting your device with a screen lock and keeping it updated. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but because your data never leaves your device through the App, the risk of exposure from our side is minimized.

10. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App does not collect personal information from any user.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. Because all of your data is held on your own device, you can exercise these rights directly within the App or through your device settings. If you have any questions, please contact us.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add new features. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and publish the new version on this page. If a change significantly affects how the App handles your data, we will make that clear within the App or on its Google Play listing before the change takes effect.
